In late March my best friend Bal Dasa passed away on Kamaileunu Ridge during the Mt. Ka`ala trail clearing. Last month we scattered his ashes on a ridge over looking the North Shore, along the Kealia Trail.

Today I placed an American flag a few hundred feet below the spot were Bal passed on. I would have put it where he went down, but the trail is to narrow there and the flag would make it dangerous for hikers.
From below w/a pair of binoculars you can just about see the flag flapping in the breeze.
These are the parts I used to set up the flag. I pounded the 2' section of the pipe into the ground and then clamped the 6' section to the 2' section.
