The trail wraps around the ridge just climbed and heads up toward the summit. This view is looking up into the valley.
The trail follows the fence line for maybe 5 min. After that you walk along the old Waimano Ditch. The trail is quite wide at this point and you can see the old silted in ditch on the right of the trail. After about 5 min on the "ditch trail" you come to a small dry stream. There the trail crosses the stream and you climb the ridge on the left of the stream. Just as you begin your climb there is a tunnel on your right that goes right thru the ridge you are about to climb. The below view is from the top of the ridge. The climb from the stream only takes about 3 min. For us it is now 8:03 am
